Research
Research issues related to specific car manufacturers. SOME issues would require dealership service, or simply to have a small part replaced or adjusted.
I would be able to advise if the repair is something that the average person can correct, or a dealership would be required. ALL TEST RESULTS AND PRIOR SERVICE RECORDS WOULD BE REQUIRED.
General automotive advice
There are good/bad ideas when attempting to maintain your vehicle. (Best practices, safety procedures, and advice on getting the "do it yourselfer” to the next step of the repair process once stuck.)
Provide service advice, and best practices when deciding to service your vehicle to more inexperienced drivers (college students, new drivers etc.)
Need to know how to replace a tire in an emergency (or other similar emergency breakdown)? Don’t worry; I can walk you through that whole process, even if you've NEVER changed a tire before.
Repair manual translations
Even with a repair manual, fixing and repairing your vehicle can still prove a task given terminology and specifications. I will be able to break those terms and specs so the average person will be able to understand and perform service as prescribed.
Protection from shoddy workmanship or work not being completed as promised.
Some automotive shops are not as honest as they say they are. Have you ever authorized work, and are not sure whether that gasket was ACTUALLY replaced or not? I can guide into specific clues to indicate when a service has been completed and completed correctly.
DISCLAIMERS
NOT EVERYTHING WILL BE ACCURATE! Seeing and testing the vehicle myself would be the absolute BEST way to assess your vehicle. The advice and practices are ONLY just that, advice only.

Matt describes himself: “I am a licensed in the areas of Life and Health with the state of North Carolina and hold non-resident licensure in several adjoining states. While my primary area of service is helping clients through the Medicare Enrollment process, I also sell a wide variety of Health Insurance products including: Affordable Care Act policies, Off-Exchange policies, Short Term, and Cost-Sharing policies. As a Broker, I am able to contract with the majority of carriers within each state that I am licensed. This allows me to serve as the Client’s advocate with the goal of finding the best policy for each person or family I work with. I am not bound to one insurance carrier or company. An educator at heart, it’s my goal to help my clients learn as much as possible about their plan, why they have it, why they should keep it, and if the time comes to change, they understand the reasons for my recommendations. Consultations and recommendations are no obligation and do not require payment to me.”
